We are leaving for Hawaii (Maui) tomorrow morning! I got these two dresses for the vacation and I'm super excited to wear colors. (I've been wearing black and grey...and more grey..)
I'm only bringing my film cameras but hopefully I can still post with my iphone photos while I'm there.

Re-doing our home

We've been thinking about moving for a while but we finally decided to live here for another year.  Instead of moving, we want to make our house cozier and super comfy.  The number one problem in our house is our Eames style Modernica couch. Wait, I wouldn't say it's a couch. It's a day bed! After 5 years of back & neck pains from sitting on that thing, I'm so over it. I want something comfortable and roomy,, Something all of us (including our dogs) can lay down with our legs stretched!

So Brad and I went to Room & Board on my birthday morning and ordered a big sectional sofa. It's gonna take two months to get it delivered but I don't mind waiting. Meanwhile, I bought these Indigo pillows from Vivier & Bentley for the new sofa. We'll all be eagerly awaiting the arrival of the big boy.

The next step will be finding an antique rug and coffee table at the flea market. And then we want to get our bath tub reglazed! Super fun!

Good bye sweet kitty

My cat Nylon passed away Saturday morning. She was only 8 years old. She had been battling with Chronic kidney (renal) failure and it had been an emotional roller coaster for us.

Nylon was always popular with our guests.  Everyone said she was the sweetest kitty ever.   She loved to be around people,, she loved to be petted.  (even when she was sick..)  I remember the first day we met her at an adoption. We already had a dog so we had no intentions of adopting a kitten but we saw her among a bunch of other kittens and were smitten.  Her coloring was different and she was smaller than others.   They said she was an orphan and some mommy cat had adopted her and fed her along with her own babies.  Also her original name was Cookie Monster and we thought that didn't fit her at all!  Her beautiful pale green eyes and a little dot on her pink nose stole our hearts, so we took her home that day and named her Nylon.  For some reason she thought our dog Choco was her mom and one of the funniest memories we have is her trying to nurse on her adopted Shitzu mommy.

I had no idea it would be this hard to lose a pet.  I miss her terribly and the house feels so empty without her.   I'm gonna try to think it's nature and she's in kitty heaven.  Brad, Choco, Pepe and I will keep only happy memories with her and move on with her in our hearts.

I love you, my little Nylon.  Thanks for the 8 years of your sweetness and love.

Candle love

My talented friend Simone LeBlanc recently created yummy soy wax candles and I'm obsessed! The packaging is so sweet and all of the scents (Cedar Vanilla, Cucumber White Tea, Sandalwood Rose) are heavenly. My personal favorite is Cucumber White Tea. :) You can find them here.

Wren Spring 2012

I love Wren Spring 2012 collection and I can't wait to get some of the pieces. Especially the pink floral pants in the last photo.. I need them! I've seen the next (Summer) collection too and it's amazing. Go Wren!

hi my lovely readers
i hope you had wonderful holidays. it was nice to just sit and watch stupid reality shows and eat yummy food for a week. (i needed a doing nothing kind of time.) last year was such a great year for me and i'm so thankful for everything.
