This is the strangest thing. I love eating those palm leaves! I just ate some this past week and they were given to me by my mother-in-law. They also sell them at the farmer's markets here in Hawaii. The ones I ate were baked by Bale, a Vietnamese takeout/sandwich shop. Weird.
In Hawaii it's called a palm leaf and its not a bread. It's more like a flakey and crunchy and buttery cookie. Interesting though that different cultures make almost the same pastries.
