secret rock beach

we spent the morning on the beach collecting rocks and walking with the dogs. it was so peaceful and relaxing. this little secret/hidden (supposely) beach is our new favorite place to go now. tomorrow i'll post about some amazing treasures i found there.

miss leslie from lulugrace kindly sent me a sample of her jewelry and i'm loving it! (i'm a sucker for fringe!) i can't wait to wear it with a little black dress for a night out.

Lulugrace is newly formed (February 2009) jewelry company created by leslie kim. she's a full time graduate student at NYU pursuing a Master's in the Art History of Fashion (Costume Studies), previously employed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. you can find her stuff at her etsy shop. Alter in Brooklyn will be selling some of her pieces soon as well. she also recently started a blog.

this one's one of my favorite succulents i have. so hardy but pretty. when it gets crowded, i just cut some and plant them in other pots.- they grow roots so fast!

my dad flew back to korea today. while he was staying here, he made a veggie garden for us ( he's an excellent gardener ). i felt so sad when he walked into the gate at the airport. he looked so small and lonely. i drove back home with teary eyes.

i try to reduce spending and expenses but a piece of chocolate cake can be so helpful when i feel stressed. darn you, economy. i need more cake and my dogs need more beef sticks.

my dad's visiting us. as usual i'm excited and stressed at the same time. i wish i was closer to him. i wish he quit drinking.

more instruments are added. it's silly but i'm always worried about moving. how are we gonna move all these when we move out?

i've been eating lots of apples lately. little ones taste better i think.

rustic style!

the table is finally finished and we are very proud of it. it's not perfect but good enough to use and it's our first piece of furniture! we still had a little bit of wood left so we made a thin bench. it turned out a bit messy but pretty strong to sit three people. i'm thinking to get two of these outdoor chairs in white. also 3 yards of linen for a tablecloth. yeah!

our table is almost done. we thought we finished it yesterday but then realized the legs were not strong enough so we are adding a little more support for the legs.
i think we will have BBQ dinner this weekend.

sad news: some bugs ate my first ripped strawberry. i'm so mad at them!

it was such a nice day. the house is a lot brighter than before and it makes me so happy! brad finished his work earlier than his deadline so we started building an outdoor table. whew,,it wasn't as easy as we thought.- i'm so tired....
hope we finish it sometime this week. this weather is just perfect for outdoor dining!
