my weekend's been very nice. lots of art, lots of good food and friends.

my parents just built a chicken coop in their country garden and "adopted" 10 chickens! i want to go to there so bad. my mom said my dad's been obsessed with the chickens. how cute! i hope to visit korea this year. i miss it.

 i'm in love with coco mademoiselle. i was at the mall and the cute bottle made me curious. i sprayed it on my scarf,, since then i'm in heaven. i'm wearing the scarf even at home. 

does anyone know a good banana bread recipe? (not too sweet)

BBQ party at annie and michael's

Annie and michael hosted a backyard BBQ party. it was extra fun with their new puppy little milo although the poor thing was busy running away and hiding from curious little kids. i wore an outfit that "boys don't appreciate". brad told me i looked like a ninja with the harem pants.

i still need to find a cute glass jar for the moss. i'm afraid it's going to die soon. should i put it in the sunny place or shade? do they grow too?

brad and i decide to eat at home more often to reduce our expenses on food. we had korean BBQ for dinner. it was so good. tomorrow i'm thinking to make fish tacos. and the next day ,, maybe japanese curry.

happy hike

lovely hike in franklin canyon park. we enjoyed the reservoir, ducks, turtles and forest. i brought a little bit of moss home and look forward to making a mini terrarium.

saturday

my opening was great! many thanks to those of you who came to the show and those of you who congratulated me via email from other cities. i'm a little sad that Mr. penguin didn't take enough photos last night. i only have a few pictures of the crowds and me looking like an onion. but he was there for me and i forgive him. haha. heather posted some of the paintings from the show on her blog.

after the opening, we went to malo and had my favorite shrimp diablo and sangria. i loved the food and the relaxing time with my friends.

dinner

i cooked salmon steak and mango salad for a girl's only dinner party. these two are the best combination! yum

i love a day like this.

i'm pretty much done with my work. i've tried so many things to make my sculpture look better - clothes on and off, eyes bigger and smaller, mouth or no mouth, rough or smooth, high bun or side bun, many attempts of making a bird,,, many ideas of wall installations) but after all these i'm back to the original idea. less is more.

i cleaned the house including my work room. (it was covered with paper clay! ) having breakfast and gardening made me feel less stressed out. the empty fridge will be filled soon and i'm going to start cooking a lot.

i have no time to blog.  my show opens this saturday and i have a few more things to do. i'll try to be back in a couple of days.
