*i love full skirts,,,but yesterday the wind blew up my skirt at a parking lot (like 100%!) and it was a disaster. my hands were full with groceries so i couldn't even fix the situation quick. after i finally managed to pull the skirt down, i looked around and there were about 10 guys staring at me. the wind kept blowing and it was a struggle to walk to my car! i'm still thinking about the embarrassment. ok. i'm going to forget about it now. they don't know me and they won't remember me. ok.

*i'm reading barbara kingsolver's prodigal summer and i love it so far. i started with megan's recommendation first but i'd like to read all of the books you suggested one by one.

*peonies are so so pretty!! i'm waiting for those tight buds to bloom.

That's happened to me too! I was walking across a bridge and a huge gust blew my skirt into my face. The only remedy I know of is to wear shorts underneath but who likes to do that?
P.S. Those peonies are beautiful!
oh, skirts and wind make life interesting :) i usually wear ae shorts under skirts when i go to shows. The back pockets usually have buttons that I put my id, money, phone & camera in to free up my hands and not worry about a bag. and i don't really care to be too delicate in skirts so I can be a kid if I wear shorts underneath. Pretty pictures, love the flowers :)
i really love peonies. I just gave my mom a bunch, just because they're so lovely to witness. http://elauinc.blogspot.com/2010/05/peony-project.html
love your skirt anyway ;) oh and your mug has the most beautiful glaze inside!
Barbara Kingsolver is one of my favorite authors. Hope you like the book. :)
i really love your outfit, so pretty!
oh honey! no worries, wind has upskirted every girl at some point. once i tucked my skirt into my undies and walked around the whole mall like that. incidents like that make for great stories later, even if they are humiliating at the time. if you cant laugh at yourself, then who can you laugh at :D
jeana, i love your 3 things...especially the book you chose :) Hope you're liking it so far!
that skirt is lovely...even if dangerous in the wind ;-) Who makes it?
oh sorry that happend to you! That happend to me at a wedding, in front of the entire wedding, on a hill, and I had huge black panties on, and it made me laugh so hard I almost snorted wine out of my nose.
That's a really beautiful skirt!! I just love everything in that look.
And you had your own Marilyn experiencE!!
You must read alot. It takes me about six months to get through a 300 page book. Too many distractions I guess. Another recommendation: Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress, also a movie. Very good foreign film.
@katie
of course it's vintage. : )
i loved that book; it's been a while and i think i'll have to pick it up again! your peonies look so delicate.
I saw a cute little mademoiselle in Paris getting on the Metro, wearing a skirt so much like that, and I've been on the hunt for one ever since. I had no idea I NEEDED a grey vintage pleated skirt so much!
I love the greys, greens and soft pinks in this series of photos!
