Matilde is 18, and while I was shooting her, I was thinking what I wore when I was her age. Gosh.. Compared to what Matilde wears, my closet was kind of a disaster. haha. When Matilde moved to the US, she brought only one big suit case of clothes and bought a few new things when she got here. Despite how limited her closet was in quantity, I think she was able to put together a bunch of great combinations.
Matilde wants to work in fashion industry and I think she's got a great taste and talent to make her dream happen soon.

Describe your style
I'm polygame with styles -- that doesn't mean I do not have one -- but because I'm young, I think I've a large choice without borders. So it goes from classical, to Rocky passing by bohemian, child, woman, extravagant, Russian, Italian, Spanish... Hmmm you'll define my look by the pictures.
I maybe don't have any style, if I love an item, I wear it.

Are there any key pieces you find yourself wearing constantly?
I used to refuse to wear the same clothes two times. It's a bit ridiculous, I know, but it was my rule -- trying to be as versatile as I could. but here(LA) because I don't have my all closet, ...
I'm gonna answer the question: I'm wearing rings on the ring finger and the little finger, but not big rings, I've seen that too much, but some fine, delicate one.

Who are your favorite designers?
A friend was passionate about Dries Van Noten Fall 2009, and passion is contagious… margiela (if I could afford it!)…. Ashish A/W 2010

What was your last purchase for your wardrobe?
A leather jacket with mutton on the collar (Burberry style), but it's a vintage one.

What are your favorite places to shop?
It's always by accident, even more so because I don't know shops here. its all about discoveries. for example: I went In lux de ville -- because I had to pick up the famous Blank fake fur of Clare -- and I fell in love with a transparent black shirt (not vintage)… I had to go to Venice (abbey kinney) and I stopped in a shop (Madley), and found a jacket /sweater with fur effect.
I came across ' The Reformation' on the third, they have a beautiful collection.
Who are your style icons?
Kate Moss, and Lily Allen stage clothes -- who's her stylist??? her? Margherita Missoni

Do you have any items you've been eyeing for winter?
I'm missing winter, but I go to NY for Christmas, so I'll say hello to winter with Penelope Chilvers boots.
Do you have any stories about amazing deals you've gotten on awesome pieces?
The best deals I've made are with my Italian grandma'. She gave me all her personal clothes she wore when she was my age (a white BB short, a crepe trousers…). And my mum kept some things also, like a bomber -- I loove that -- and a flower dress -- Jean Paul Gaultier junior.

Which blogs do you read daily?
Dear Nike, Rackk and ruin, seaofshoes, Marian Kiohogo

Can you give us smart shopping advice?
Try to shop things that are 'intemporel'/timeless

5 things you can't live without.
Hope, lipstick, food, computer (including reading, music..), family
What's your dream career?
To attend every fashion show, to be a muse cause it's a good in-between, I'm not an artist but I love art

Thanks for reading.
LOTS OF adorable outtakes on my Flickr! Don't miss it!

First off, with a name like Matilde (was also my grandmother's name) you cannot go wrong! She seems like such a sweet girl and I really appreciate that you kept her answers the way she said/wrote them because it feels so genuine. That last dress is amazing.
gorgeous. matilde is adorable. jeana, your photography, especially the portrait-style, is kind of the bomb-diggity! am loving, loving this visit.
Great visit. Thanks for the eye candy.
Cozy Jeana! Cozy Matilde!
Very nice style for a 18 year-old-girl! When I was 18, I had some other priorities like studying, university etc.
Sandy

Could Matilde be any cuter/cooler?? As if I would expect any less of someone who works with Clare & Jocelyn ;)
Love this cute post. Any chance some of her shoes/brands are available in the US? Looks like they are not only stylish, but super comfy!
She has impeccable style :) My closet was so not chic at 18!
great interview! classic but fun style :)
So psyched to see that my blog is one of your favorites!! Great styling in these photos! I especially love that backpack and the dress in that last photo. Xx
what a gorgeous girl! so good as usual.
I love these closet visits! Do you think you'll ever do one of someone over, say, 40? (maybe you already have, and I just can't tell...)
@carlene
yes, next next monday (20th)!!
Awesome! :D
Another wonderful visit! I can't tell if that's a black leather skirt she's wearing in the first photo, but if it is, I loved how she's styled it with a trench and a burnt sienna-y top, oh, and red gloves! Love it!
xo, anna of green gable
her red lips are lovely! and that jumpsuit & scarf are to die for. jeana your photog skills are impeccable as usual!! xoxo
i wish we knew what she was wearing... those wedge black shoes are amazing.
Matilde is tres chic.
Proud to say I was there when she picked up that little leather jacket 'with mutton'. Her eye is incredible... she has that ability to find the diamond in the rough. Makes me feel quite silly when I think how I dressed when I was 18.
Love it! I'm dying to know the designer of the puffy grey, white and red sweater/coat worn with lighter blue skinny jeans. Is it vintage?
The leather mid-skirt is classy on her. Stylish young lady.
