Re-doing our home

We've been thinking about moving for a while but we finally decided to live here for another year.  Instead of moving, we want to make our house cozier and super comfy.  The number one problem in our house is our Eames style Modernica couch. Wait, I wouldn't say it's a couch. It's a day bed! After 5 years of back & neck pains from sitting on that thing, I'm so over it. I want something comfortable and roomy,, Something all of us (including our dogs) can lay down with our legs stretched!

So Brad and I went to Room & Board on my birthday morning and ordered a big sectional sofa. It's gonna take two months to get it delivered but I don't mind waiting. Meanwhile, I bought these Indigo pillows from Vivier & Bentley for the new sofa. We'll all be eagerly awaiting the arrival of the big boy.

The next step will be finding an antique rug and coffee table at the flea market. And then we want to get our bath tub reglazed! Super fun!

Ps: Thanks so much for your kind comments on Nylon.

i was just thinking the same thing about our hans olsen couch! it's comfortable for sitting, but not for lounging, and there isn't enough room for everyone.

those pillows are beautiful...!

Fun! I think there is just nothing prettier than monocrome block print, especially on pillows. Soo tasteful.

If you are redoing your home please come out and visit me, I am at the Pasadena Antique Center (Bonita-Interiors) and might have some items that you may like, as I am a fan of your blog and somewhat of a hippie at heart.Good luck!!!

We are over our minimalist modern sofa, too. It's just not cozy or spacious enough for our family! Have you watched "The Architect & The Painter" yet? The Eameses had such a modern yet warm aesthetic, it made me & my husband realize all the ways we were keeping our home from being cozy. A Room & Board sectional is my current dream, but we keep putting if off because of our small children, dog, and a move planned in the nearish future... And oddly enough we need to have our tub reglazed too! Glamorous lives we are living :)

Hi there,
So sorry about your kitty cat. She was a beauty.
Which sofa did you choose? I'm forever searching for a new, comfy sofa!
Well wishes from Canada!

You are going to love having a larger couch. We recently bought a sectional from Crate & Barrel and it was one of our best purchases ever. So comfy for the whole family. :)

We took the plunge a couple of years ago and ponied up for a nice couch- you'll never regret it! The only problem is, its so comfy you might never want to get up!
